Refugee Youth Project relies on the service of trained volunteers to meet the needs of the 300+ students we serve annually through a combination of our mentoring and after-school programs.

RYP’s volunteers play a critical role in enriching the experience of refugee youth, accelerating their integration, and educating the public about their newest neighbors. Volunteers also benefit from interacting with refugee students, learning about different cultures, and making a difference in someone’s life.

We would love for you to get involved.

There are two ways you can choose to volunteer with RYP: As a homework tutor at one of our after-school program locations OR as a mentor matched with a refugee youth or single mother. Follow the links below to find where you fit in.

Free during the week? Available before 6 pm?

We have just the thing for you. Our after-school programs run Mondays through Thursdays during the school year between the hours of 3-6 pm. Tutors help students with homework and assist RYP staff during lessons.

At least 21 years old? Can you commit to volunteering for a longer period of time?

That’s fantastic. Mentoring is flexible for those who wish to build lasting relationships with refugee youth but typically aren’t free during after-school hours.

Don't fit into one of those categories?

There are many ways to help.
