The Refugee Youth Project relies on the weekly contributions of trained volunteers to meet the needs of the 300+ students we serve annually through our mentoring programs and three after-school program locations. Volunteers are recruited from many walks of life but many are from local high schools, universities, and workplaces.
RYP’s volunteers play a critical role in enriching the experience of refugee youth, accelerating their integration, and educating the public about their newest neighbors. Volunteers also benefit from interacting with refugee students, learning about different cultures, and making a difference in someone’s life.
We would love for you to get involved. Please explore our opportunities below and if you have any questions about volunteering, please email our Volunteer Specialist or call 410-558-3258.
Free during the week? Available before 6 pm?
We have just the thing for you: our programs run Mondays through Thursdays during the school year between the hours of 3-6 pm.
At least 21 years old? Can you commit to volunteering for a longer period of time?
That’s fantastic. Many of our mentors are working professionals who want to build a lasting relationship with refugee youth but aren’t free during work hours.
Don't fit into one of those categories?
There are plenty of other ways to help.
